- Started surfing aged 12 at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia (1977).
- Repaired surfboards during my teens.
- School holidays at Angourie Point.
- Introduced surfing as a school sport at Cranbrook School, Sydney (1981).
- First trip to Lord Howe Island in 1983.
- First trip to G-Land in 1983.
- Made low budget surf films of Bali and G-Land.
- Established Insight clothing label (1984).
- Opened a surf shop at Bondi Beach (1985) with David Gyngell.
- Developed extraordinary curved surfboard fin designs (1986-87).
- Lived and surfed on Norfolk Island (1987).
- Developed wave pool models (1993).
- Designed first website for grajagan.com (1998).
- Independent research of surf tourism (2001).
- Worked for Coastal Watch as surf forecaster (2004).
- Established Surferpedia (2007).
