Michael Willis is credited with surfing the world's largest waves. One of the few surfers to ever ride a tidal wave Michael Willis is credited with surfing Hawaii's first, second and only "condition black" Michael Willis is also credited with shaping the majority of Waimea bay surfboards from the eighties to two thousand. Mark Foo, Ross Clarch Jones, Marc Occillupo, Titus Kinimaka, Rob Page and other big wave surfers from around the world have all surfed Willis brother big wave surfboards. Michael Willis is also credited with a dramatic rescue and saving Titus Kinimaka's life during high surf. Michael Willis as well as twin brother Milton may indeed be the world record holders of the largest waves ever surfed when they rod outside Sunset Beach Hawaii after surfing outside Log Cabins on January 28th 1998. To this date there has not been another swell recorded as large or another condition black issued by the state of Hawaii.
